What happened is unfortunate, but Kromede isn't completely gone. She's just guarding the Fire Temple in a different form now.
"What happened is unfortunate, but Kromede isn't completely gone. She's just guarding the Fire Temple in a different form now." Kromede's followers could not easily come to terms with the decision she had made. Nemon was also disappointed, as all the effort she spent on finding the Core with Kromede had amounted to nothing. Nevertheless, she offered reassurance that tracking down Siegbert would lead to both the Core and the Ascension Artifact. The party returned to the Sky Island—now devoid of its owner—to get ready for the next stage of their journey. Their hopes are now placed on the Fate Hideout that Petto had mentioned in his dying breath.
