"I can't believe I let myself be swayed by a man who'll do anything as long as the end justifies the means." Despite Ione's objections, Phernos insisted on using Scarlotus directly to uncover Reda's true intentions. Ione does not trust Phernos to act responsibly, so you agreed to take part in the Scarlotus experiment as a mediator. Once all preparations were complete and the spell was cast, countless Fossa Specters appeared and attacked. Even after Phernos halted the incantation, the Specters continued their assault, forcing you to end the ritual by destroying all of the Fafnite. Though the Scarlotus experiment was technically a success, Reda's true purpose remains a mystery. As Ione shouted in rage and condemned Phernos's recklessness, a pact was made to keep the day's events a secret.
