"Please find Menrik before it's too late." Gamilla has been working alongside Menrik for a long time, and always felt he has too strong a sense of responsibility, though she never dared say so. The Fangs are not so soft that he cannot rely on them, but people do not change so easily. For someone like Menrik, the failed negotiation and escape of the captive must have dealt a serious blow. Just as Gamilla predicted, Menrik had taken it upon himself to track down the Blades captive alone. "I-I know it was presumptuous of me! But I felt so pathetic doing nothing but getting injured." Back at the Fang Hideout, legionnaires were all worrying about Menrik in their own way. Among them was Aran, still a relative newbie, but already building a solid track record. It was only natural her pride would be hurt after a wound suffered early in the ambush prevented her from being able to provide much help. Despite her injury, she tailed Menrik and saw him vanish into a dreary cave. Inside were pieces of Balaur Dredgion technology and signs of Blades occupation. Menrik took out the Blades staying there, as well as a group of Balaur summoned by the captive. Menrik finally avenged the fallen Fangs, but was scolded by Masocon, the legionnaire who had been held hostage, for acting alone. If it were not for your help, even someone as capable of Menrik might have been overwhelmed. "Since so many are more than capable of being my replacement, I didn't feel my own life was particularly valuable." Menrik took his subordinate's advice to lean on his legionnaires more in the future.
