Ruins of the Ancient City of Roah

According to legend, the Ancient City of Roah was the pinnacle of Atreian civilization until it was swept away by the Abyss and disappeared. By tracing the wavelength of Roah's Heart, a relic of the Ancient City, the tenacious relic-seeking Shulak of the Shuliman Expedition were able to discover the city's ruins, along with the shifting Abyss connected to them. Many adventurers were drawn by rumors of a relic of Israphel, but the entrance to the shifting Abyss was expensive to maintain and frequently closed. Abyss Rift Zone

The Abyss Rift Zone—an Abyss within the Abyss, accessible only through rifts that open periodically. Here, too, the Balaur run rampant, their attentions directed squarely at the Daeva. But the conflicts that raged in Reshanta showed no signs of fading in the new realm, only intensifying further. Even in the Abyss beyond the dark, peril-filled rifts, the Daeva of each dimension clashed fiercely, continuing their conflicts, and even the mighty Balaur were relegated to little more than a means to prove one faction's superiority over the other. To Daeva who plunged fearlessly into the Abyss Rift Zone, even the mightiest Balaur were nothing more than prey worthy of their honor. With the opening of each new rift, Elyos and Asmodians alike rush in to form base camps from which they may continue waging all-out internecine war and hunting down Balaur.
